“OWN CHOICE” forms are required by all musicians and one should be filled in for each separate class you are entering. It should be attached to a copy of your music and handed in to our Competitors’ Table on arrival for your class.

BMCF INSTRUMENTAL PRIZE (Sponsored by the Doug Temple Trust) and the Rotary Nomination Recitals

In the syllabus, a number of advanced classes are marked with “R”. These classes will all take place on the afternoon of Sunday 24th March 2024 in front of a panel of judges. Whilst these classes are open to all competitors, those aged 18 and under will be eligible to win the BMCF INSTRUMENTAL PRIZE.

Any number of competitors aged 18 or under may be nominated to go forward to the next round of the Rotary Young Musician competition.

The winner of the BMCF Instrumental Prize will receive

A cheque for £400 .

The Doug Temple Memorial Trophy (to keep for ever)

The MINNS INSTRUMENTAL PRIZE TROPHY

3 pairs of tickets to this season’s BSO concerts, kindly awarded by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

A certificate to denote their achievement.

The Teacher’s Trophy will be presented to the teacher of the winning performer, along with a certificate.

The runner-up will receive

A cheque for £150 and a certificate

No competitor can win this class more than once, but, this year only, previous winners of The BSO Award (if still under 19 years of age) may enter.
